First, we've used this concise and understandable text in our cardiovascular technology program for a few years, and suggest it for sonographers readying themselves for the registry exam.
Second, in response to the rather fussy reviewer from Hawaii, those folks during this field who use ultrasound for diagnostic studies take an exam known as "Physics" to get certification. The book is supposed to assist those folks to organize for that exam. Therefore, the title is just about right on the money.
I sometimes advise students (and others making ready for the exam) to use the Edelman text in conjunction with another ultrasound physics text, like the Kremkau or Zagzebski, so as to nail all of the test-taker's blind spots.
NOTE! Some rascals are selling the previous 2nd edition of this text, the purple one, for absurdly high costs. Get the third edition, the bronze one, that is vastly improved over the older one, and greenhorn it'll value but these grossly inflated costs. All respect to Sid Edelman, that one is okay, however not a collector's item.
